A wonderful Original Scottish Victorian Sterling Silver Lidded Jewellery Box made from a Horses Hoof, made by renowned Scottish Silversmith John Sanderson. 100% original, has the benefit of being un-monogrammed and free from personalisation.

Wonderful decoration to the outside of the lid carrying through to the rim, the hinge is in superb working order and tight fitting. Full set of Scottish Silver Hallmarks to be found inside the lid and outside of the rim. Inside of lid still has the Original Gold Gilt finishing with blue velvet lining. To the underneath of the hoof still has the original horse shoe intact.

I have seen horse hoofs that have been made into ink wells etc but not many as a ring box. Hard to find with Scottish Sterling Silver Hallmarks.
