Rare and very collectable Antique George III Sterling Solid Silver Soup, Stew or Serving Ladle, made in PAISLEY SCOTLAND 1809, then sent to EDINBURGH to be assayed making this a 213 Year old Antique Treasure. Fully hallmarked for WILLIAM HANNAY registered from 1796 to 1814 in PAISLEY, SCOTLAND.
The Ladle is Huge 36cm/14.25 inches Long, and weighs 201gms, it is of the FIDDLE or OAR PATTERN, it is monogrammed with the single letter M in script, please look at the pictures. Although the ladle is big it has a very elegant feel to it. The Hallmarks are very readable, the spoon is made of a good gauge of silver. The condition is very good Antique condition for a spoon that is 212 years old it has very little wear to the bowl, a nice polished finish, no repairs or damage, surface scratches commensurate with age, it has been used, a very collectable item of SCOTTISH PROVINCIAL silver that would grace any collection.
