Antique 1860 Victorian Scottish Sterling Silver Agate St Andrews Cross Brooch A gorgeous antique victorian provincial Scottish sterling silver brooch in unusual St Andrews Saltire cross design, it is inlaid with a lovely combination of scottish agates. A rare and sought after design, unusually the date 1860 is carved into the slate back and there also some initials and what look like roman numerals! - it may have been a sweetheart gift. I have no reason to doubt the date and in fact it may be a slightly earlier piece given the design and construction.

Not marked but tested as Sterling Silver; Guaranteed by us to be sterling silver Weight: Approx 13.9g Measurements: 1 3/4" long x just under 1.5" wide 45 x 36mm - Stone inlay 38x30mm. Condition: Very Good Used Condition, there is a stable small crack to one of the small red pieces at the top centre in photo 1 - It is hardly noticeable and doesnt detract. Otherwise minor wear for its age - Please look at all photos - Please ignore any white flash marks, these are not on the piece.
