Antique Georgian Scottish Provincial Silver Snake Wrap Bracelet 1830s Sterling

VERY RARE GEORGE IV SCOTTISH SILVER SNAKE CUFF BRACELET. A wonderful, rare Georgian era silver bracelet. It is partially hallmarked with George IV's head showing the duty had been paid, the Scottish thistle mark for sterling silver and the maker's mark'M&C' for Mackay and Chisholm. There's no year or city mark.

However, Mackay and Chisholm were founded in 1834 and Victoria came to the throne in 1837, so it must have been made between 1834 and 1837. It is very solid and well figured, with beautifully done scales and face, and a wiggly tail. It is very rigid (not bendy) and it slips on, so would only really fit a slim-ish wrist (my wrist measures about 6" - 6.5" and I can get it over my hand easily enough)!

The internal measurement of the bracelet is approx. 10cm from tip to tail. The bracelet is antique, but it is in very good condition.

It has a little tarnish and patina, and is probably very slightly out of shape, but is really great for a Georgian piece. I have given it a very light polish. Please check out the photos as they best show condition. And please take a look at my other items.

Please Read Info and T&Cs. I can provide tracking information for parcels if needed. Please read the item description carefully, check the size and take a good look at the photos. Any issues however (items damaged or lost in post), please get in touch (opening a case would be the best way, as I will know to get back in touch asap).

Please note, I can't always respond quickly to messages. I often re-use packing materials to keep cost down, but items will be carefully and safely packaged.
