Antique Scottish agate and Silver Butterfly brooch

A very pretty antique Scottish agate and Silver butterfly brooch. It has heart shaped wings, two on each side both set with different shades of agate both red and green, both muted tones. Set into sterling silver, it has an elongated engraved body. It is a fairly small sized brooch and very well made, very versatile and could be worn in many ways. Fully hallmarked to the reverse for sterling silver, Birmingham Assay office, 1901.

It has an old C type clasp and pin fastener. Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, aged patina to the silver. Weighs approx 2.34 grams.
