Antique Scottish pebble agate brooch, Celtic cross, Victorian
We love this unusual antique, Victorian era Scottish agate and silver Celtic cross brooch. It has such a unique shape and design made up of smooth polished sections of various different agates, some in half circle, horseshoe like shapes which give it an added depth in it's design. The cool silver bezel frame encasing the agates perfectly, it has a smooth reverse, the polished slabs of Scottish agate including Red Jasper, lace agate and moss agate. A particularly lovely example, very versatile and can be worn in many ways with a lovely unique design. It is a fairly large sized brooch and it has an old C type clasp and pin fastener. Unmarked, tests as sterling silver, Victorian era, c1880s. Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, some tiny nibbles to some edges of the agates. Weighs approx 21.63 grams. This item is in the category "Jewellery & Watches\Vintage & Antique Jewellery\Brooches & Pins". The seller is "stolenatticuk" and is located in this country: GB.
