Antique Scottish Silver Thistle Brooch 25.3 grams, Hallmarked Glasgow 1951

A lovely Antique Heavy silver Scottish thistle brooch with a central claw set citrine coloured stone. The brooch has a hallmark to the back which is scratched but some information still there. Makers mark for'RGL', Robert G Lawrie Ltd, who was registered with the Glasgow assay office from 1908, date letter'C'. Made in a Victorian manner this brooch dates for 1951. Very heavy weight at 25.3 grams with a good pin and roll catch, tested as silver.

Designed with thistles and Celtic motifs, the brooch measuring 46.7mm across with a 16mm citrine. Overall in very good condition with signs of pre-usage commensurate with age. Maker; Robert G Lawrie Ltd. Brooch size; 45.1mm diameter. Condition; used overall good with signs of wear.
