TestPresented is a lovely antique Scottish sterling silver and agate pin or brooch, dating to the mid to late 1800s. The brooch is made in a long oval form, set with a translucent piece of some type of mottled agate.
The edge of the pin is finely hand engraved with a fluted design. The pin has an old C type clasp, but please be aware the pin shaft extends about ¾ of an inch beyond the edge of the pin.
This piece is in excellent condition. The stone is well set and in great shape. This piece is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be sterling silver. The pin came to us in a lot of Scottish sterling jewelry, some hallmarked, so we have no doubts it is of the same type.
The pin measures about 2 3/4 inches by ¾ of an inch. This doesn't include the length of pin shaft that extends beyond the edge of the pin. This pin weighs 13.2 grams. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
