A very nice salver by Francis Howden of Edinburgh and dating from 1801-2. Rare to find a salver by him. One of Scotlands premier Silvermakers.

The tray is supported on three feet. It has a letter P engraved to the centre (see photo). It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "FH" for Francis Howden, the Scottish thistle sterling.

Mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and date letter "V". It measures approximately 8 inches.
