Antique Victorian Scottish Brooch Pin Citrine (faux) Sterling Multi Stone c1890
Antique etched sterling silver and possibly faux? Citrine multi stone, multi color, Scottish pebble brooch made in the 1800s. Both genuine and paste citrine were commonly used in pieces of this type and it can be difficult to tell the difference. This small brooch features a unique and expertly crafted Luckenbooth design surrounding a gorgeous faceted citrine? And studded with classic green and red speckled bloodstones from the Isle of Rum as well as orange and mustard jaspers from the Campsie Fells in Stirlingshire. The small purple and blue cabochons adorning the top are paste (aka glass). Minimal wear to citrine and original C-clasp in working order. All stones firmly in place. There are some tiny nips at the edges of the jasper and agate stones, quite normal in pieces of this type, but nothing that I would consider damaged. As with most antique pebble jewelry from this era, there are no markings but does test for 925 sterling silver. Antique Victorian Scottish pebble jewelry refers to jewelry set with, or otherwise including, polished gemstones found in Scotland. Polished agate and granite were cut into shapes and set in mosaic patterns, or intricately carved into bracelet panels, in silver (occasionally gold) jewelry, often using many colors in one piece.

Genuine antique pebble jewelry is always one of a kind. This jewelry came into fashion after Queen Victoria bought the Balmoral Castle estate in 1848. Length: 1-3/4 (4.4 cm). Width: 1 (2.5 cm).

Citrine Size: 12 x 9 cm. Please note that vintage and/or antique merchandise may have some degree of visible wear and/or patina. This is considered normal and can be a part of the overall appeal and charm.
