ANTIQUE Victorian SCOTTISH PEBBLE AGATE + STERLING SILVER BRACELET banded CARVED
Lovely ANTIQUE Victorian SCOTTISH "PEBBLE" AGATE BRACELET set in sterling silver. The Scots excelled in Scottish agate or "pebble" jewellery, which became particularly popular during Queen Victoria's reign. A timeless piece with floral-like carved, banded agate stones in claw settings interspersed with solid chain links, with a sort of X brace to the reverse. The bracelet is in excellent original condition with a lovely, heavy engraved silver clasp, hallmarked'sterling' to the back as shown in the photos. The stones, which have a diameter of approx 2.5 cm/ 1 ins, are beautifully marked and without flaws to the front.
A couple are nibbled to the reverse - this may be original to the carving of the stones. 19 cm/ 7.5 ins long measured laid flat from the tip of each end of the clasp, so please allow for take-up of around 1 cm/ 0.5 ins.
