Lovely ANTIQUE Victorian SCOTTISH "PEBBLE" AGATE BRACELET set in sterling silver. The Scots excelled in Scottish agate or "pebble" jewellery, which became particularly popular during Queen Victoria's reign. A timeless piece, the bracelet includes various stones such as moss and banded agates, and is hallmarked'Scotland' and'silver'. The bracelet is in excellent original condition, but has a later replacement spring ring attachment which appears not to be silver, unlike the rest of the metalwork.
The safety chain is original and silver. The round stones are set within a solid silver setting and alternate in size, the larger stones being approx. 2 cm/ 0.75 ins, and the smaller approx. 1.5 cm/ 0.6 ins. 20 cm/ 8 ins long, laid flat, and while the safety chain could in theory be used to extend the length slightly, this is delicate.
