Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Agate Shield Sword Kilt Brooch Lozenge Mark
Antique Mid-Victorian Scottish Silver & Agates Sword, Scabard & Shield Kilt Pin or Brooch. Beautifully detailed with a hand engraved design. The shield has a inset banded carnelian agate and Moss agate.
The scabard has a bloodstone and the handle of the sword has orange jasper. All the agates are intact with no cracks or damage.The tip of the sword appears to have been broken off at some point and a repair done to reshape the end and to fit a new C-clasp. The back has the Lozenge mark which was used between 1842 and 1883. Part of the mark is obscured so it is not possible to date it exactly. The weight is 20.2 grams.
