Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Scottish Agate Padlock Clasp Chased 1.3 Inch

For sale is an antique Victorian period Sterling silver padlock style clasp mounted with Scottish agate and hand chased scrolling on its reverse. The padlock clasp measures 3.3 cm in length including the padlock arm, 1.9 cm in width at its widest point, and weighs a total of 5.13 grams. The clasp is unmarked but has been tested and confirmed to be made from Sterling grade silver. At some point in its history the padlock arm was soft soldered to the main closure (image 9), however the majority of this soft solder has been removed and it currently functions exactly as it was intended, and clicks closed and opens smoothly.

If you own an antique silver Scottish agate bracelet that is missing its clasp this is the perfect replacement. Please be aware that this is a used item and so it will display wear commensurate with previous use. This includes scratches, indentations, areas of tarnishing, an traces of soft solder.
