Late 19th Century 925 Sterling Silver and polished Scottish Pebble Necklace. A very beautiful and unusual chain necklace comprising 925 Sterling Silver chain interspersed with polished Agates, Quartzes and Jaspers of irregular form. This is a special piece of jewellery, which has a lovely feel to it. The colours are beautiful, and very subtle - pale pinky Jaspers, orange-red Carnelians, blue-grey Chalcedony, pale Rock Crystal going into Amethyst, and an ethereal blue-grey central stone.
The piece is very well-made, and has a lovely tactile quality about it. I want to sing the praises of this subtle, yet impressive piece, as it could easily be overlooked. Measuring 63 cm in length. The stones have been sympathetically matched and balanced, and form natural-looking pairs on either side of the fabulous central stone. Chain is not marked as silver, but tests as 925 Sterling Silver. (Central stone is approx 3cm x 3cm).
