One rare antique Scottish sterling thistle stag horn sporran frm vinaigrette box
One very rare antique Scottish sterling thistle stag horn sporran form vinaigrette box. This rare Scottish vinaigrette is made from stag horn and chased sterling silver. The cap is finely chased in thistle motif. The cap opens and closes properly. The grille is removable and fit snugly in place. With a gentle push, the grille may fall into the box. Once the grille is removed, the rough interior of the stag horn is visible.

The silver trim is good shape and being held in place by tiny silver screws. One screw sunk through the silver trim(see picture). This vinaigrette came from a large collection of antique vinaigrettes and nutmeg graters I found in a local estate sale. The owner kindly presented prior receipts, from which I learnt that the collection was acquired from various jewelers and antique dealers in the last 25 years. Measured in metrics (mm) : 60x30x15.
