Alexander Ritchie Sterling Silver Iona Cross Pendant c1907. A very rare early Antique Alexander Ritchie Sterling Silver Iona Cross Pendant dating to c1907. (please see the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the item's description).

This wonderful Iona Cross Pendant, which weighs 17.6 grams, is approx' 7.4cms long (including the bale) by approx' 3.5cms wide. As shown, this beautiful Cross is decorated with Celtic Scroll Decoration around a central Celtic Knot Motif. Dating to 1907 this Alexander Ritchie Silver Cross is a particularly rare early piece - it is stamped with the Maker's Mark'A. And the'IONA' stamp together with Sponsor's Mark'CSFS' for Saunders & Shepherd who were a firm of London, Birmingham & Chester Silversmiths who made made items for Alexander Ritchie to his own designs before he was officially registered with the Chester Assay Office in 1910.

As shown it is also stamped with a full British Hallmark confirming that it is made from solid Sterling Silver and that it was assayed in Chester in 1907. Is in great condition with only light wear commensurate with age, as shown.
