Art Nouveau and agate brooch. Irene Bruce Laing Edinburgh 1948. A fine and interesting craftsman-made solid silver brooch in Art Nouveau style. Has a grey agate carbochon stone. Made by Irene Bruce Laing.

Assay mark for Edinburgh 1948 (S). Has a safety chain and pin.

The securing catch for the pin is a circular locking type. Irene Bruce Laing registered her mark in July 1943. Dimensions: 5cm diameter x 1cm deep.

5.7cm across brooch and cabochon. Weight: 22.1gm (0.71 ozt including cabochon). Condition: A very attractive brooch with great style. The agate carbochon has a slight flaw at its base (see photographs). Please examine photographs, as these are part of the description.
