This is for a superb Ola Gorie Orkney sterling silver mythical beast, zoomorphic brooch. Ola Gorie was born and has lived most of her life on the Orkney Isles, just off the North coast of Scotland. It was in the 1960's Ola Gorie began designing and hand making her fabulous silver jewellery. The early jewellery was heavily inspired from the Norse and Celtic influences found in abundance on the Orkney Islands. The beautiful, stunning designs created and skilfully hand crafted by Ola Gorie were her interpretations of the. Very rich heritage of ancient. History and art found amidst. This fine artisan handcrafted brooch was inspired from The Book Of Kells and the figures of mythical beasts contained within.

Fastens with a rollover c-clasp and pin fastening. Pin straight and closure safely and securely. Measures approximately Length 37.65mm Width 32.59mm (width measured at widest point).

Weight approximately 8.1 grams. Marked "OMG" for Ola Marie Gorie.

Assayed for Edinburgh and dated for 1997. Presented in good condition with light patination. A wonderful example of Scottish silver from the renowned silversmith Ola Gorie.
