VERY LARGE sterling silver Orkney ROUSAY brooch from Orkney, Scotland - in super condition with beautiful detailed celtic zoomorphic design - size 62mms x 47mms with locking clasp and weighs approx 22.8 grams - fully stamped for Edinburgh 1979 by Orkney silversmith Ola Gorie - also stamped "OMG" makers mark. An intricate penannular brooch was found in a 9th century woman's grave on the west coast of Rousay and this influenced this design.
