This is an unusual attractive Scottish silver clan / family brooch from Scotland - in super condition with detailed design for the LAMONT clan - large size 48mms x 40mms with early "C" clasp. This brooch is fully hallmarked for Edinburgh silver 192 and is stamped "TE" makers mark for Thomas Kerr Ebbert. The Lamont clan originally ruled in the Cowall Peninsula in Argyll and is said to descend from an Irish prince of the O'Neill Clan. The motto translates as "Neither Spare nor Dispose".
