This is an early attractive Scottish sterling silver clan brooch from Scotland - in super condition with detailed design for the Comyn or Cummings clan - size approx 37mms x 30mms with early "C" clasp. The brooch is stamped with Edinburgh hallmark for 1957 so over 70 years old with makers mark for Melock & Craig of Inverness. The Clan Comyn were the most powerful family in 13th century scotland until they were defeted by their rival to the scottish throne, Robert The Bruce.
