Superb & Top Quality Antique Scottish Solid Sterling Silver Christening / Punch / Wine Cup. By Robert Stewart, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, Scotland. Fully Hallmarked, Assayed London 1915 Date Letter U. Here we have a superb and very unusual Scottish antique solid sterling silver Cup / bowl. The Cups bowl is a very elegant coupe design with a stunning reeded strapwork handle, standing on a stepped spreading pedestal base, a very stylish and unusual cup.

Wonderful gauge of solid sterling silver used, hence its beautiful deep shine & lustre. With the all important " NO " Monograms, the cup does have a small date 7th Jan 1916 engraved on the inside of the pedestal. Base, it's very descrat and can't be seen as its hidden on the inside foot of the base. Highly polished finish, looks amazing and in wonderful order.

Fabulous condition, obviously spent most of its life as a display piece, as it's free from any dents, dints or scratches. A superb Scottish piece of silver, very stylish and subtlety featuring many Stylish characteristics, from one of Scotlands finest and respected silversmiths, Robert Stewart, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, its pure quality and in wonderful polished condition.

Makers Mark : RS : Lion Passant : Leopards Head London Assay: U : 1915. The Hallmarks are stamped on the cups / coupes facial side by the Handle,, they are very clear, crisp and deep, easily readable. Height to Tankards Rim : 6.7 cm or 2.64 inch. Height to Handle : 9.3 cm or 3.65 inch.

Diameter of Rim : 10.0 cm or 4.0 inch. Width of Tankard including Handle : 13.2 cm or 5.20 inch. Base Diameter : 5.6 cm or 2.20 inch. Fabulous condition, No nasty, dents, or scratches, and most importantly. No Mug distortion or buckles, sits true and without any wobbles.

The silver Gleams and shines, wonderful heavy gauge of sterling silver used. Interior is free from any nasty scratches, highly polished and superbly clean & hygienic. A very special Scottish Cup, as good as they get! This very stylish Scottish cup is in fabulous condition, it does have a highly polished finish and may show some light marks, although they would be very light if any. Would make a very special and wonderful gift.

Apologies for the reflections & shadows as this shape is very difficult to photograph without reflections, some of the photos as they were taken in a conservatory, hence the reflections of the glass roof. Very difficult item to photograph as the cup has a highly polished finish. Any dark areas, Matt finishes or wavy formats are only reflections as this cup has no dull or dark areas and is cosmetically excellent.
