Rare and very collectable Antique George III Sterling Solid Silver Soup, Stew or Serving Ladle, made in GREENOCK SCOTLAND 1805 then sent to Edinburgh to be assayed, making this a 219 Year old Antique Treasure. Full Set Of Crisp Clear hallmark's for JAMES ORR registered from 1801 to 1805 in GREENOCK SCOTLAND. The Ladle is a very imposing 38.5cm/15.25 inches Long, and weighs a very good 175gms, it is of the of THE OLD ENGLISH PATTERN, it is monogrammed with I believe the single letter J in script, please look at the pictures, Although the ladle is big it has a very elegant feel to it.
The Hallmarks are very crisp and clear, the spoon is made of a good gauge of silver. The condition is very good Antique condition for a spoon that is 219 years old it has very little wear to the bowl, a nice polished finish, a couple of tiny pin prick's in the bowl, no repairs or damage, surface scratches commensurate with age, it has been used, a very collectable item of SCOTTISH PROVINCIAL silver that would grace any collection.
