Victorian Solid Silver & Scottish Blue Lace Agate Roundel Garter Buckle Brooch. Here is a really lovely victorian rare silver & scottish blue lace agate garter buckle brooch. The brooch measures two inches in diameter and a further half an inch for the silver at the bottom of the brooch and is all set in silver not marked but tested & guarranteed victorian silver. This really is a lovely quite unusual example which is roundel, & is a garter buckle which is inset with real scottish blue lace agate, which is polished flat cut with its lovely colour & natural markings & lovely strong banding. It then has a lovely engraved silver border with typical victorian chasing and a lovely silver engraved buckle. The brooch has a pin & CClasp working well and also a bail for a safety chain. This brooch dates to around the 1880s in the victorian period when scottish jewellery was at its height and i have never seen an example exactly the same as this, but as with age & wear this brooch looks as if one of the pieces has been replaced & this piece has a tiny bit missing to the edge, but i dont think this detracts but just mentioned for total accuracy, see pics. This really is a lovely victorian scottish brooch in good origional complete condition as stated and a unusual quality example of these. Box not included Box not included.
