Victorian Sterling Silver Sword Brooch w/ Scottish Agate & Bloodstone 10.16g 925. I'll admit, I had no idea what this was, and had forgotten about it. I set it aside, and as we're packing for a move, just found it! Cleaned it with water at first, and the patina was really uneven once the dirt and grime came off.
Ended up giving it a light hand polish to not damage the stones and make it look presentable. These were somewhat popular in the Victorian era, modeling a sword in it's scabbard and usually set with Scottish agate, bloodstone, and sometimes other stones. This one has both of those, and incredibly detailed engraving work.
It is not hallmarked, but tested as sterling silver. Measures 73.6mm by 18.4mm, with a total weight of 10.16 grams. Really awesome piece, with nice detail! We post new listings daily!
