Vintage Scottish 925 Silver, Citrine and Polished Granite dangle-drop earrings

925 Sterling Silver earrings featuring a plaque of polished blue/grey/green natural granite'hardstone' in the shape of a shield. The earrings are on elegant silver wire hooks so they are suitable only for pierced ears.

The polished granite'shields' are captured in sterling silver mounts which accent the natural colour and patterns within the rock and which have a silver finial at the base comprising three tiny spherical beads of silver. The lovely quality of the earrings is also seen in the faceted, oval-shaped, pale yellow citrine at the base of each hook.

Citrines are often used in this type of jewellery and they combine beautifully with the blue/green colours in the rock. It is a look is entirely inspired by Scottish or Celtic jewellery designs which have deep symbolic meanings and which have been worn for centuries. Please note that the lovely silver cross shown in the final image is not included with the earrings. I have photographed them together simply because I love the combination.
