Vintage Scottish Sterling Silver Pin Brooch Luckenbooth John Hart Iona. This is a beautiful Scottish sterling silver Luckenbooth pin brooch. It was designed by John Hart, the celebrated Scottish silversmith associated with the holy island of Iona. The Luckenbooth pin brooch is a traditional Scottish wedding brooch given to the bride by the groom on their wedding day and subsequently pinned to the shawl of the first baby to protect it from evil spirits. Today its just a very romantic gift. The entwined hearts are beautifully engraved and surmounted by a crown. The crown is also engraved. 1 3/4" by 1 5/8". A little tarnish which can be polished.
