Here we have a very attractive and good quality sterling silver and mixed agates necklace dating from the mid 20th century, It is marked sterling at the clasp and sterling Scotland on the back of the central stone. This very well made necklace is approx 16 inches/ 41 cm long and has seven beautiful specimen agates and green chrysoprase stones. From the outside towards the centre there are two oval shaped banded agates in shades of brown and white, then two square chrysoprase, two oval grey coloured Montrose agates and at the centre, a square shaped orange/brown carnelian. The alternating square and oval shapes as well as the variety of the stones and their colours / figuring gives a very pleasing effect and the stones have been carefully selected. The square stones are 2 cm wide and the oval stones, 2 cm long. The curb chain fastens securely with a bolt ring clasp. The necklace is in excellent condition and ready to wear. Would make a lovely gift or a treat for yourself. Sure to draw many compliments for the wearer. Please see my other vintage and antique items of jewellery also listed for sale.
